- Cree guida la rivoluzione dell'illuminazione a LED e sta rendendo obsolete le tecnologie di illuminazione tradizionali che sprecano energia attraverso l'uso di un'illuminazione a LED a basso consumo energetico ed ecologica. Cree ha portato per la prima volta sul mercato il LED blu nel 1989 e oggi i LED XLamp® di Cree hanno costantemente superato gli standard del settore in termini di luminosità ed efficienza. Infatti, i LED XLamp sono stati i primi LED "di classe illuminotecnica": i LED sono abbastanza luminosi da essere utilizzati in applicazioni di illuminazione generale, come lampade da tavolo, plafoniere e luci stradali. Inoltre, l'ampia gamma di LED ad alta luminosità di Cree introduce nuovi livelli di prestazioni ai display per esterni e all'illuminazione decorativa.La divisione di potenza e RF di Cree è ora nota come Wolfspeed, A Cree Company. Wolfspeed sta liberando la potenza e i sistemi wireless dai limiti del silicio guidando l'innovazione e la commercializzazione dei sistemi di nuova generazione basati sul carburo di silicio e sul nitruro di gallio.
